Wow--happening faster than i thought!

Not to put the cart before the buggy or anything, but I KNEW if we waited until P was ready to potty train he'd do it quickly. However, I didn't think it would be in a matter of days. He's impressing me every step of the way! As you all know, he's been peeing in the potty for quite some time. Last week he started pooping in the potty. Mark and I thought for sure vacation would mess it up--in fact we only took him to the potty on vacay when he asked to go. We got home on Wednesday night and he's been going on the potty ever since. He was dry all day yesterday and did all of his business in the potty. He woke up very early this morning--5 am--asking to to "go to potty, not in my diaper". I'm so proud of my lil' man! It is kind of bittersweet though..........

So, these morning wake up calls--I'm hesitant to take him to the potty b/c i don't want him getting in the habit of waking us up multiple times a night for curtain calls. Nor do i want to discourage his potty learning. What do you guys do for night wakings for the potty? Also for my fellow cloth diapering mamas--can you recommend some good pull on cloth trainers (it'll make those night time potty trips a lot easier)? Mark wants to get some pull ups for night time. I said phooey, "We'll get some cloth!" We have big boy undies for daytime.

1st steps

and guess who they were for?! ! she has taken a few steps here and there. but today, held out his arms and said "come here bapah" (she was pulled up on me). she let go and took about 3 steps before falling. mark just got home (short break from work) and saw her do it again. she's done it several more times. keeps saying "bapah walk more" and laughing. 1st steps on her 1st birthday..........

already?!

harper's been fighting her morning nap. she'll for a while, then play for a while, then for a while, until i finally get her out of her . she's done this for the last few days--no nap. is she getting ready to drop her morning nap already?! p didn't transition to only 1 nap a day until he was about 15 months old. i guess i'll see what she does the next few days and then go from there. i may move our afternoon nap to 12 pm instead of 1 pm to make it easier on her. this would be good for p too (sometimes we have to wake him from his nap b/c he naps so long and we don't want it to interfere with bedtime). i just laid her down and she's so tired she rolled over, bumped her head hard on her (it didn't even phase her), and is sound asleep. for those of you with 1 year olds, what do their naps look like? when did your baby transition to 1 nap a day?

tooth #6

I just noticed that Harper's 6th tooth has cut through--her top tooth to the left of her front tooth. She now has 4 top teeth and two bottom.

first steps coming soon

Harper has learned how to stand up in the middle of the room without pulling up on something first. She's been doing it all morning. She lets go when playing/cruising all the time, but today she's been standing up all by herself.
