prayers for Wes

Major prayers are needed for my cousin Wes! He's in the ICU with skull fractures. His friend was pulling him by a rope on a skateboard while riding a motorcycle. I wish to God he was wearing a helmet! As long as his CT scan shows no changes this am, he'll be moved out of the ICU to a regular room. Please keep him in your thoughts!

Thanksgiving Feast

Pierce had his very first Thanksgiving Day feast at school. Each child was asked to bring a healthy snack to share (such as crackers, cheese cubes, pineapple tidbits, etc.) at their Thanksgiving table. Pierce chose to take grapes. I wish I could have seen them passing everything around sharing what they were thankful for. Pierce is thankful for "riding my bike very fast".

Pics

We had Harper's 1 1/2, Pierce's 3 1/2, and family pictures made today. I'm so happy with how they turned out! The kids did awesome and were very patient. These are the first professional pictures of Harper actually smiling. Previously, she's been either stone faced or crying. Check out the cuteness:

21 months old

Today my baby girl is 4 days shy of being 21 months old, the exact same age Pierce was when she blessed our lives with her presence. It's really hard for me to imagine Pierce as being this age when Harper was born. He seemed much more grown up and not as baby like as she does. I can't help but feel some tinges of guilt thinking maybe I expected too much out of him at such a young age. Just like all milestones, it's bittersweet. To celebrate, here are a few recent pics of both my joys:
We're huge fans of snuggling:

We're huge fans of napping too:

And as you can tell, Pierce is still a huge Darth Vader fan:

Halloween 2009

Halloween was a blast! Both babies really got into it this year. Friday, Pierce's school trick or treated nearby campus offices. Harper and I got to tag along for the fun. We had brought spooky pencils for his classmates and pumpkin cookies we had baked the night before. That evening we carved our (in) famous annual jack-o-lantern. Saturday night (Halloween), we had Nana, PawPaw, and Grandad (Grandma Kathy wasn't feeling well) over for pizza and trick or treating. Pierce has the jingle "Trick or Treat, smell my feet, give me something good to eat" down pat thanks to PawPaw. He was very polite though and thanked everyone for their contributions to his pumpkin bucket (of which he slept with that night after a good teeth brushing of course). Harper had a blast running around the neighborhood. Pierce was dressed as Darth Vader (his good friend at school introduced him to the Star Wars villain and ever since, P's become quite obsessed) and Harper dressed as Princess Leia. Check out our our Halloween slideshow sans Mark's famous captions. Keep an eye out over the next few days and I'll be publishing our Smoky Mountain vacation slideshow WITH his captions and my lengthy travelogue.
