was today and went awesome! He was an angel and got a perfect check-up. They did 7 x-rays and cleaned his teeth all while he held perfectly still. I winced watching b/c we all know how much those bite wings hurt but he handled them like a pro. I asked about his under-bite. Dr. J said that it is very slight, borderline 1/3 (1 being correct, 2 is an overbite, and 3 is an under-bite). He doesn't have the typical profile of someone who has an under-bite and he isn't actually presenting a true under-bite. The deal is, when he bites down, his top teeth touch down directly on his bottom teeth. That's uncomfortable to him so he drops them back behind his bottom teeth. Since it's ever so slight, the dentist thinks that it will probably correct itself naturally. Wonderful news! We also got mad props for the awesome job he's been doing brushing. He said he's got plenty of spacing too, so we get a free pass on flossing for a while since regular tooth brushing is more than adequate. Yeah P for healthy pearly whites! We are so proud of our model patient! An adorable pic of my brave lil' man in the waiting room:

Notice the mismatched clothes? Pierce has decided he needs to wear some sort of jersey daily since the superbowl. Thankfully his teacher doesn't think any less of us for allowing it. You learn really quick as a parent to pick your battles huh?!
Pierce's bravery was rewarded with a McDonald's hamburger (his choice and a treat from his dentist) for dinner. It was thoroughly enjoyed by our typically picky eater.
